Spaghetti – Persian Macaroni

by on December 2, 2012

Persian style Macaroni or Spaghetti has claimed its place among other Persian Dishes. There are some specific differences in how Iranians prepare Spaghetti or Macaroni that you need to be aware of when cooking it.
One difference in preparation is that we don’t include lots of cheese. I have done my best to explain everything in detail in the video. Enjoy it!

I first had macaroni in 2006 when visiting Tehran; I figured out a bit later how to make it and it’s been a staple for me ever since. I usually use spaghetti, and I add a finely diced green bell pepper as well as sliced mushrooms to my sauce. Dastet dard nakone!

Thanks Chef . Very practical and easy to follow instruction. I will replace soy texture for meat. So I will have almost the same presentation without meat. Thanks again.

I always use ur site for ur expertise in Persian cooking. I will definitely try ur way of putting the pasta with the sauce. Our relatives put the sauce &pasta together at the end during the “steaming” ? With the pot cover on to create tab dig. So when the pot is turned upside down on the platter it is in the form of a cake. I was hoping u can tell me if I need to have more water in the pot at the end, how long to form the tab dig & anything else I should know. I appreciate ur help , thank u. I’ll continue to watch ur program.
